Bryce Canyon to Antelope Canyon: Drive and Route

Bryce Canyon to Antelope Canyon is about 155 miles and takes roughly two hours and forty five minutes, dropping south out of the high plateau on US-89 into Page, Arizona.

The two sit at opposite ends of the same geological story, and visiting both in one trip is common on a southern Utah loop.

The route

Leave Bryce on UT-12 west to the junction with US-89, then head south on US-89 through Utah and across into Arizona. The road passes through Kanab, which is the natural stop for fuel and food, then continues down to Page.

You lose nearly 4,000 feet of elevation along the way, and the change is dramatic. Bryce can have snow on the ground while Page is warm and dry the same afternoon.

Pairing it with Zion

Most visitors doing this drive are on a wider loop that includes Zion, which sits between the two. A common order is Zion, then Bryce, then Page, since it keeps each leg short and finishes closest to the fastest route home.

See Zion to Antelope Canyon, which at about two hours is the shortest leg of the three.

Seasonal considerations

Bryce sits around 8,000 feet and gets serious winter weather. Roads within the park and UT-12 can be affected by snow well into spring, while Page rarely sees any.

If you are making this drive between roughly November and April, check conditions on the Utah side before you commit to a same-day canyon tour.

Worth stopping for

  • Kanab, Utah — roughly the midpoint, with food, fuel, and lodging.

  • Grand Staircase–Escalante — the drive skirts its western edge, with viewpoints along US-89.

  • Horseshoe Bend — just before Page, about twelve minutes from the canyon.

Booking your tour

Antelope Canyon is on Navajo Nation land and requires an authorized Navajo guide, unlike the national parks you have been visiting. There is no self-guided option and tours fill weeks ahead in summer.

Also note that Page observes Navajo Nation daylight saving, so local time may differ from Utah depending on the season. Your tour time is local to Page.
