How to Get to Page, Arizona: Drive, Fly, or Tour

Page, Arizona sits in the far north of the state on the edge of the Navajo Nation, a few miles from the Utah border. It is remote by design, and most visitors get there by driving four to five hours from Las Vegas or Phoenix.

There are three realistic ways to do it. Here is how they compare.

Option one: drive yourself

This is what most visitors do, and it is the option we would recommend. You need a car once you are in Page anyway, since there is no meaningful public transit and the attractions are spread out.

The two main approaches are from Las Vegas, which pairs naturally with Zion and Bryce, and from Phoenix, which pairs with Sedona and Flagstaff. Both take about four and a half hours and both are genuinely scenic drives.

Option two: fly

Page Municipal Airport is minutes from town, but scheduled commercial service is limited and has changed repeatedly over the years. Check current schedules rather than assuming.

The practical alternative is flying into a major hub and driving. Las Vegas and Phoenix are both about four and a half hours out, with far more flights and better fares. Flagstaff is closer at roughly two and a quarter hours but is a small airport that usually requires a connection.

Option three: a guided tour from another city

Day tours run to Antelope Canyon from Las Vegas, Phoenix, Sedona, and Flagstaff. They handle the driving and usually bundle Horseshoe Bend.

The tradeoff is time and flexibility. A day tour from Las Vegas or Phoenix means most of the day in a vehicle and very little time to yourself in Page. If you have the option, driving yourself and staying a night is a much better trip.

Once you arrive

Antelope Canyon is on Navajo Nation land and requires an authorized Navajo guide. You cannot drive up and walk in, and there is no self-guided option, so book before you travel.

One detail worth flagging: Page observes Navajo Nation daylight saving, while most of Arizona and all of Nevada do not. Local time in Page may be ahead of where you started. Your tour time is local to Page.
