Page, AZ Time Zone and Antelope Canyon Tour Times

Page, AZ Time Zone and Antelope Canyon Tour Times

Page, Arizona is on Mountain Standard Time all year and does not observe daylight saving time. Our Lower Antelope Canyon tours run on that same clock, even though the canyon sits on the Navajo Nation, which does observe daylight saving. From March to early November, that means your phone may show a time one hour later than the real time at our check-in.

It is the most common way people miss a tour they have already paid for, so it is worth two minutes to get straight.

The short answer

  • Page is on Arizona time, Mountain Standard Time, all year. It is the same time as Phoenix and Flagstaff.
  • Our tour times are Page time. The time on your booking is the time in Page.
  • Daylight saving runs March 8 to November 1 in 2026, and March 14 to November 7 in 2027. Those are the months when the clocks around Page disagree.

Why the clocks disagree around Page

Page sits where several time rules meet:

  • Arizona does not observe daylight saving time, so most of the state stays on Mountain Standard Time all year.
  • The Navajo Nation does observe daylight saving, across Arizona, Utah, and New Mexico. Its land starts just outside Page, and Lower Antelope Canyon is on it.
  • The Hopi Reservation, which is surrounded by the Navajo Nation, does not observe daylight saving, so the clock can change more than once on the same drive.
  • Utah observes daylight saving, and the state line is only a few miles north of Page.

In winter, none of this matters: Page, Utah, and the Navajo Nation all show the same time. From March to early November, Page is one hour behind its neighbors.

Your phone may change the time on its own

Phones set their clocks from the nearest cell tower. Around Page, the nearest tower may be on the Navajo Nation or across the line in Utah, so in summer your phone can jump an hour ahead without warning, including while you are standing in our parking lot.

The fix is simple: set your phone's time zone manually while you are in the area. On an iPhone, go to Settings, then General, then Date & Time, turn off Set Automatically, and choose Phoenix. On most Android phones the same option is under Settings, then Date and time. Switch it back when you leave.

Do not trust a rental car's clock either. Set it to Page time or ignore it.

Three examples

  • Coming from Kanab in July. For a 10 a.m. tour, you need to check in by 9:15 a.m. Page time. Kanab is about an hour and a half away, so leave by about 7:45 a.m. Page time, which is 8:45 a.m. on a Utah clock.
  • Coming from Monument Valley in summer. You gain an hour on the drive: 9 a.m. in Monument Valley is 8 a.m. in Page.
  • Coming from Las Vegas in December. Page is an hour ahead, so a 10 a.m. tour is 9 a.m. Las Vegas time. In summer, the two clocks match.

Other tours and attractions

Horseshoe Bend, the Glen Canyon Dam visitor center, and Lake Powell Resort all keep Arizona time, the same as Page. Places on the Navajo Nation, such as Monument Valley, keep Navajo Nation time. If you book other tours in the area, ask which clock their times use, because not every business near Page follows the same one.

A quick checklist

  1. Read your booking confirmation and note that the time is Page time.
  2. Set your phone to Phoenix time before you drive in.
  3. Plan to arrive 45 minutes before your tour for check-in.
  4. If you are coming from Utah or the Navajo Nation in summer, remember that Page is an hour behind.

Still unsure? Our FAQ covers time zones too, or call the office at (928) 640-1761 and we will confirm your tour time. For planning the drive, see our guides from Las Vegas, Monument Valley, and Zion, or the closest airports. When you are ready, book your Lower Antelope Canyon tour.
