This is obviously going to be the most crowded time of the year. It is peak season and everyone from locals to travelers is ready for an adventure. It makes sense for families to take trips during the summer. Kids are out of school so parents do not have to worry about the lost time in school or missed homework.
July and August can get hot, especially during the daytime. The end of the morning can also get hot so come prepared for an early morning tour. Most tour buses have air conditioning which can make your tour better in terms of temperature. Bring your water bottle, sunglasses, hat, and sunscreen to protect against the sun. If you come prepared and do not mind the heat or getting sweaty, you should have a great time.

The spring months can get fairly crowded. What makes the spring months so attractive to travelers is that the weather is not too hot and the crowds are not as crowded. This still means that there will be travelers and crowds at the canyons, it just will not be as bad. During the warmer spring months that are closer to summer, you can still catch the sunbeams streaming into the slot canyons. You can enjoy the sunlight streaming through the red rocks without the blazing heat that comes with the later summer months.
Since it is not peak tourist season during the summer months, you may be able to score some good deals. If you are a savvy traveler and love saving money, you understand the importance of the off-season. The off-season allows you to travel without the crowds. While spring is not quite the off-season, it is not the peak season. This allows you to breathe and enjoy the canyons.
Fall Months
High: 80 Degrees (Fahrenheit)
Low: 50 Degrees
Fall is a nice happy medium for all adventurers alike. The weather starts to become a little bit cooler. In the early fall months there is still have some sunlight for captivating images. The sun is still out so you should be able to get the sunlight beams streaming in the slot canyons. For later fall months, the sun tends to not be as bright. This makes it hard for the sunlight to stream down into the slot canyon. The monsoon season dies down as well. That means your tour is less likely to be canceled.
The benefit of going during the later fall months is that it is not quite as crowded. The crowds from the spring and summer months start to die down. This does not mean that it is going to be completely empty. There are fewer people in the canyons, allowing you to enjoy the canyon at a slower pace. Fall is still a fairly busy time of year. There just are not as many people during the peak season of spring and summer. Tours may be on sale or at lower prices as the high season comes to an end.
Winter Months
High: 50 Degrees (Fahrenheit)
Low: 40 Degrees
Since Antelope Canyon is located in the Southwest of Arizona, it stays fairly warm all year round. If it does snow during the winter and makes the slot canyons inaccessible, we offer a full refund on all tours. This allows you to either reschedule or spend that money on another destination on your trip.
The good thing about going during the winter months is that it will not be as crowded during the traveling months of spring and summer. This time is typically known as the off-season. The weather becomes cooler, the school season has resumed, and the sun isn’t out as much during the summer months. The downside of the winter months is that the sun does not shine as bright. This means the iconic streams of light are not in the slot canyons. With the crowds calming down, you can easily book a tour during this time of year.
